John C. Chunn, Mediator and Attorney at Law, has been practicing law in South Texas for over 40 years. Our office is located in Hondo, Texas and cases throughout the state. His practice experience has provide a broad practice of general law and trial work including: real estate law, banking law, municipal law and primarily been in civil litigation and mediation with emphasis in the areas of complex business litigation, insurance defense, real estate litigation and personal injury litigation.

Litigation: The litigation practice has included insurance defense matters involving all forms of cases covered by personal auto, commercial auto, homeowners, commercial general liability and professional liability policies. The cases included many personal injury cases involving motor vehicles, premises defects, slip and falls, and the like resulting in everything from soft tissue injuries to multiple fatalities. Other areas of defense include but are not limited to claims for professional malpractice, negligent retention/hiring of employees, defamation/slander and breach of fiduciary duty. The practice throughout the years has allowed the representation of both Plaintiffs and Defendants unrelated to insurance defense in diverse matters including claims for personal injury (auto, truck, 18-wheeler, product liability, premises liability, etc.), real estate disputes, brokerage disputes, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, probate disputes, breach of employment agreements and breach of trust agreements.
Ad Litem: John C. Chunn has acted by appointment of the Courts as Attorney Ad Litem and Guardian Ad Litem for minors and wards in both simple and complex cases and is in compliance with certification renewal requirements for court-appointed attorneys pursuant to §647A, Texas Probate Code through October 2015.
Mediation: John C. Chunn began a mediation practice in 2007; he has complied with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures Act, Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code §154.052 (a) and (b) and is therefore qualified to serve by either court-appointment or agreement of counsel as mediator in a broad range of matters including family law.
John C. Chunn holds a Real Estate Broker License with the Texas Real Estate Commission and is the Chairman of John Chunn Realty, LLC, Medina County, Texas.
